Terms of Service

By signing in to EvidenceWriter (“the Service”) you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

EvidenceWriter composes text you provide into a Google Doc you own, across a scheduled period, with realistic pacing, pauses, and revisions. The Service does not generate content — you provide the writing.

• You agreeto use the Service only with documents you own or have permission to modify, with text you have the right to use, and in compliance with your institution’s academic integrity and conduct policies.
• You will notuse the Service to defraud any person or institution; to impersonate another human; to process content that violates applicable law; or to attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or rebrand the Service without written permission.
• You understandthat you are solely responsible for how you use the Service and for any consequences of that use, including any academic or professional review of your work.

You must provide accurate information when signing in and keep your account credentials secure. Access to EvidenceWriter is personal and non-transferable.

• Free tierOffered subject to the usage caps stated on the landing page and enforced in-app. We may adjust free-tier limits with reasonable notice.
• ProCharged monthly in South African Rand via Paystack. Your subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
• CancellationYou may cancel at any time from the upgrade page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Past charges are non-refundable except where required by law.
• TaxesPrices shown are inclusive of any taxes the Service collects; you are responsible for any taxes not collected that your jurisdiction imposes.

The Service is offered on a best-effort basis. We schedule maintenance and strive for high availability, but we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. A running session that is interrupted by a service incident will resume from its last checkpoint on recovery.

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. You grant EvidenceWriter a limited licence to process that content for the sole purpose of composing it into your designated Google Doc. We retain ownership of the Service code, design, and infrastructure.

The Service relies on Google (Docs and Identity), Supabase, Paystack, and a serverless worker platform. Your use of those services through EvidenceWriter is additionally governed by their respective terms.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that expose the Service or its users to material risk. You may terminate your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for deletion mechanics.

The Service is provided as is without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EvidenceWriter and its operators will not be liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid to us during that period.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Western Cape, save where mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
