What the engine does

A compiled op-sequence — insertions, deletions, pauses — persisted before execution so a restart never loses progress.

Non-linear edits

Typos surface and get corrected. Synonyms swap in. Whole sentences are rough-drafted, paused on, then rewritten in place. Every op is deterministic — repeatable and tested.

Variable pacing

Per-character delays scale with sentence density. Short sentences move fast. Dense paragraphs slow down. A ±40% word-level jitter keeps it from feeling metronomic.

Research pauses

Between paragraphs, configurable idle gaps. Thinking pauses every eight to twelve words within a sentence. The rhythm of someone actually looking up a citation.

01Is this legal?

EvidenceWriter is a writing practice and workflow automation tool. It does not generate content — you provide the text. Users are responsible for complying with their institution’s academic integrity policies.

02Do you read my text?

Your essay is stored on our database only for the duration of a session so the worker can compose it into your Doc. You can delete any session; its text is removed with it. Refresh tokens are stored encrypted in Supabase Vault.

03What happens if a session crashes?

The worker checkpoints progress after every batch and every pause. A crashed or paused session resumes from the last saved operation index — no re-typing, no duplicated edits.

04What does realism depth actually change?

“Light” is forward-only typing with jittered pacing. “Medium” adds research pauses and a 20% rough-draft probability per sentence. “Heavy” adds full draft cycles — write, pause, delete, rewrite — on 45% of sentences.

05Can I cancel anytime?
